Teresa Gray Benfield is the founder of Dwell San Miguel Real Estate and a trusted advisor to international buyers navigating the transition to life in San Miguel de Allende. Her work is grounded in both empathy and firsthand experience, with a clear understanding that purchasing a home in Mexico is not simply a transaction, but a deeply personal decision shaped by opportunity, uncertainty, and the desire to create a meaningful new chapter.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, Teresa first discovered San Miguel de Allende in 2009. Like many who arrive, she felt an immediate and lasting connection to the city, a connection that ultimately led her to purchase a home in 2016 and relocate full-time in 2019. Having personally navigated the complexities of buying, building, and establishing a life in another country, she offers clients a level of insight, perspective, and reassurance that extends far beyond the transactional process.

With nearly two decades of experience in commercial interior design and construction, Teresa brings a distinct strategic perspective to real estate. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from the University of North Texas and an MBA in Marketing and Business Law from Texas A&M University–Commerce. As the former CEO of Dilusso Design Group, she led complex, high-value projects requiring disciplined execution, thoughtful negotiation, and long-term vision, skills that now inform her approach to client representation.

Her ability to evaluate property beyond surface aesthetics, combined with a strong business foundation, allows her to guide buyers with clarity, precision, and intention. Teresa is known for setting realistic expectations, advocating with integrity, and bringing a calm, knowledgeable presence to even the most complex transactions.

In 2022, she established Team Dwell San Miguel, laying the foundation for a more personalized and service-driven real estate experience. In 2026, she expanded that vision with the founding of Dwell San Miguel Real Estate, an independent boutique firm created to deliver a higher level of advisory service defined by trust, transparency, and a deep respect for what it truly means to build a life in El Corazón de México.
